Author: Nadica Terzieva The 2016 Cross Country season has officially ended! Through all their training sessions and race cheers, Cameron Heights spirit could not be better said. Whether the training involved intervals of sprinting or HILLS or maybe a light jog around the block, the team was there ready to make Cameron proud, or at least themselves if it was more of a personal goal.
They ran through WCSSAA and came out as #2 out of all the schools and junior girls got a whopping 1st place tie! What can I say, they really are one of the best teams out there. CWOSSA was absolutely dreadful with mud, sweat, (and possibly tears but it was raining too much to tell), all over the place. And yet, regardless they ran through it all and finished the season with a great (and very well deserved) team dinner. And for everyone out there sad that the season is over, don’t worry! There’s still cross country skiing. “In it for the long run,” could not be a better slogan for the team. They ran through sun stroked late summer days, and mid October mud and rain. Cross country running is not only a great new way to meet new people, it also gives you a fantastic workout. Your legs will be so defined, you’ll want everyone to know it’s from your running. And take it from me, someone who hated running since forever ago. I have improved my athleticism so much since I began and I’m so proud of my achievements. And you will be too, it’s hard work and it pays off.
